Gar Khaab Ho

Sometimes a composition does not arrive as a clear form. It begins as scattered thoughts — a rhythm without a destination. I had set out, as I usually do, to shape a ghazal. The words began to fall into meter, emotions gathered around them, but the ghazal never fully revealed itself.

Instead, the verses slowly found another path.

While writing, I realized that the thoughts were no longer about a moment of emotion or a single story. They were about a human ideal — the making of a person who stands firm in values, courage, restraint, compassion, and self-discipline. A person who carries ambition but also patience, strength but also humility, knowledge but also humanity.

The structure gradually turned into chaupais, and with every couplet, the idea became clearer: a vision of Purushottam — a reminder of what a human being can aspire to become.

Perhaps the chaupais are less about poetry and more about a quiet aspiration — that somewhere within every individual lies the possibility of becoming better than who they were yesterday.

And maybe that is where the true journey begins.

Behind this expression stands the collective effort of these artists...
