Shaam Dhale

Some creations are not planned — they simply arrive when hearts are open.

One warm summer night in 2004, the three of us brothers were sitting together, sharing poetry the way we often did. Lines, thoughts, and emotions were moving freely between us. Somewhere between laughter, silence, and reflection, a simple idea appeared — a feeling of longing that comes alive when evening falls, and loneliness begins to whisper.

That feeling slowly shaped itself into the song “शाम ढले, रात की तन्हाई के तले…”.

Each of us wrote one antara. No one was trying to compose a song; we were simply responding to the emotion the moment carried — the quiet ache of waiting for someone whose presence lives more in dreams than in reality. A face remembered through sleepless nights, a heart holding onto hope, and the fragile understanding that some dreams may never become truth.

By the time the clock touched 4 a.m., the song was complete.

What stayed with us even more than the song was the experience itself — three brothers creating something together purely out of feeling. In many ways, that night quietly planted the seed of what today we know as Srihari Brothers, long before the name ever existed.

And as the emotion found its voice, each of us became a part of its expression...
